We finally own a patio set

So really., Most people wouldn't get exited about buying their first Walmart patio set. But hey, neither of us has had a yard in how many years. It's like a marker of getting out of the city. We celebrated with a bottle of wine from our winery touring day, and an exciting menu, as per me (hot and sour soup, fresh green salad with avocado, and pasta with grilled mushrooms)

A random day with lots of wine

We started the day with a cruise from Kris and Adrienne's up to the big Penticton sign. It's all cemented gravel as you can see at this angle. I thought is was quite funny that some one had put a cut-out of a sheep up on the hill by the sign. From a distance you would think a sheep was grazing there. Ha ha on the tourists I guess.

We hit a few winery's in Naramata. It was early season so most weren't open yet. (May long weekend really marks the opening of the smaller wineries) But, we still managed to hit a few and come home with 8 bottles and an empty wallet (glad of the good old gov't tax return) This was taken at Elephant Island, one of our favorites. I have toured Naramata in the past but they sell out real early because their wines are so unusual. they are a fruit winery in the land of grapes. We bought a Cassis and and Black Currant wine. They are held in reverence in our liquor cabinet for a special occasion. (no not xmas or anything, just what we deem as a fun evening)

A surprise visit

Aura is so full of energy. Gotta love it. Althoug our cats weren't so sure of her intentions. She wanted to be friends... they figured she needed a good swat.

T&R did a little trip to the states to see his mom, then cruised up the coast to
Tanya and Eringtons on Cortez, stopped in Van, and then were heading home with intentions to stop in Salmon Arm to stay with T's parents when they remembered hey, S&K moved to the Okanagan. They called from Hope and wanted to come by for the evening. And hey, we always have a bed for friends, please come one, come all. I was so excited to see them. In July we are going to go to the Kootneys for some explorations, which will involve dropping in on their doorstep.. Sooo exciting.
Aura is such and awsome pup (she's just under a year old) looking foreward to seeing their cat Loki, who I hear is now a condender in the fat cat category

Easter Visit

I've been working a ton lately. I knew it would be impossible for me to get the Easter long weekend off, as I am newly transfered to Kelowna. That's why I booked a long weekend last weekend. But gladly my work was closed for Easter Sunday, and that gave me and Kevin an opportunity for some family visits. We had originally planned to go to Chilliwack for the evening. But then his parents decided to come up to our house instead. He did a little wine tour with them while I worked on Saturday, and then I cheffed up a fantastic dinner for all. These shots were taken Easter morning while the men cleaned up our cars before heading down to OK Falls for Hannah's big egg hunt.

Monty in the wilderness

So we finally decided to let our apartment dwelling cats explore the great out doors. They are quite humerous to watch outside, cause they still think that they are doing something bad. If you get anywhere near them they bolt for the door

Sun Peaks

We headed up to Sun Peaks for a fantastic weekend. It's the first time we have checked out this mountain and we fell in love. The whole place is ski in ski out. We had a lovely condo, with private hot tub and the works. Not to mention that we had fabulous weather. Sunshine and spring conditions that sluchy wet dreams are made of.
It was so great that me and Kev are able to experience new mountains with Dave and Paula. We hope to continue our annual mountain journeys with them, to a new mountain every year.
What a view!!
I'll say it again, What a view!
